The Washington We Love — And the Fight to Save It.

The Washington we love wasn’t built by politicians.

It was built by families, workers, small business owners, and neighbors—people who believed in hard work, personal freedom, and the promise of a better life for their children.

But today, that promise is under serious threat.

Families are being squeezed by rising costs and runaway taxes.

Schools are putting bureaucracy before students.

Crime is spilling into our neighborhoods.

People are dying in our streets.

And too often, those in Olympia act like they serve each other—not the people who elected them.

We know the problems because we live with them every day. We feel the pressure. We see the failures. And we know that if we don’t act now, the Washington we love won’t survive for the next generation.

This campaign isn’t about left or right—it’s about right and wrong. It’s about protecting families. Restoring common sense. And rebuilding a government that remembers who it’s supposed to serve.

These are our priorities.

These are our solutions.

And this is the fight we must win—together.

Reducing and Eliminating Taxes

Fixing Taxes, Cutting Red Tape, and Restoring Accountability

The Washington we love was built by hardworking families and small businesses—not by bloated government or endless regulation.

But today, rising taxes and crushing red tape are squeezing the life out of the very people who make this state great. Families are paying more at the store, businesses are drowning in paperwork, and Olympia seems more interested in growing itself than helping us.

We deserve better—and together, we can take it back.

We can lower the state sales tax and stop new taxes and fees before they ever reach your paycheck. We can eliminate outdated penalties like the death tax that punish family success, and we can cut the red tape that strangles small businesses before they even have a chance to grow.

But tax relief is only the beginning.

We must also demand real transparency and accountability in how Olympia spends our money. That means public review of every major budget, independent audits to expose waste, and performance-based funding that rewards programs that deliver results—not just programs that spend more.

This is our money, our future, and our fight. We believe in a Washington where government lives within its means—so that families, entrepreneurs, and communities can finally live within theirs.

When we elect Chili Hicks, we don’t just get a seat at the table—we get a voice that won’t back down.  Together, we can rebuild a Washington that respects the people who built it.

Restoring Excellence in Education

The Washington we love believes every child deserves the chance to succeed, no matter where they live or what school they attend.

But today, too many families are seeing their hopes frustrated—not because they don’t care, but because the system cares more about protecting bureaucracy than delivering real results for students.

Families have made the investment. Taxpayers have done their part. It’s time for Olympia to be held to the same standard.

Together, we can shift the focus of education back to where it belongs: preparing students for real success in life. That starts with full transparency—giving parents clear access to curriculum, test scores, and performance measures so they can hold schools accountable.

It means supporting teachers who go the extra mile, offering real mentorship where it’s needed to educators who are struggling, and making sure dollars are tied to improvements in reading, math, and life skills that actually prepare students for the real world—not political fads or agendas.

We must expand school choice options—including more charter opportunities and education savings accounts—so that every family, regardless of income or ZIP code, has a real chance to choose the best education path for their child.

Education is not about systems. It’s about students. It’s about preparing the next generation to think critically, work hard, and live free.

When we elect Chili Hicks, we are choosing a future where student success—not bureaucracy—is the measure that matters.
Together, we can build an education system that serves families, honors teachers, and puts every child’s future first.

Defending Parental Rights

The Washington we love is built on strong families—and strong families start with parents who are respected, heard, and trusted.

But today, that trust has been broken. Olympia has forgotten who children belong to—and it’s not the government. It’s the families who love them, raise them, and sacrifice for their future.

When nearly half a million Washingtonians stood up and demanded a Parents’ Bill of Rights, the politicians in Olympia nodded—and then quietly gutted it. They stripped away the protections parents fought for. They closed the doors to classrooms, locked families out of critical decisions, and once again put bureaucrats between parents and their children.

We cannot let them get away with it.

Together, we can restore what voters demanded—and defend the rights every family deserves. We can insist that every school post its curriculum openly. We can demand that parents be informed before any non-emergency health services are provided to their children. We can protect the right of families to guide their children’s upbringing—without fear, confusion, or government interference.

Parental rights are not partisan. They are foundational. When families are strong, communities thrive. When parents are trusted, students succeed.

When we elect Chili Hicks, we don’t just send a representative to Olympia—we send a message that families will no longer be ignored. Together, we can restore the voice of Washington’s families—and protect it from ever being silenced again.

Making Communities Safer and Fighting the Drug Crisis

The Washington we love is a place where families feel safe in their neighborhoods, not fearful in their own homes.

But for too long, Olympia made decisions that weakened law enforcement’s ability to protect us—allowing crime to rise, drug abuse to spread, and criminals to act without fear of consequences.

When the Legislature restricted police pursuits in 2021, criminals got the message: run, and you’ll get away. Car thefts, property crimes, and lawlessness surged. Families paid the price.

Together, we fought back. And we won.

Through Initiative 2113, the people demanded the return of reasonable pursuit authority—and forced Olympia to listen. We reclaimed a vital tool to keep dangerous criminals off our streets.

But our work isn’t finished.

Together, we must stand with law enforcement—not just in words, but in real support.

That means ensuring police are fully funded, properly trained, and empowered to pursue and apprehend those who threaten our safety. It also means holding judges and prosecutors accountable when they turn a blind eye to crime—releasing violent offenders back into our neighborhoods and putting law-abiding families at risk.

In every community, trust must be earned—and protected. We stand firmly with the men and women who uphold the law with honor. And we also stand firm for the principle that every citizen deserves fair, professional treatment. Accountability ensures that the trust between law enforcement and the people they serve stays strong—and that justice always works both ways.

We believe in second chances—but we also believe in consequences.

We must expand access to drug treatment for those ready to turn their lives around—and crack down hard on fentanyl dealers and open-air drug markets that prey on our communities.

When we elect Chili Hicks, we take a stand for safe streets, strong families, and a future where Washington’s neighborhoods are places of hope—not fear. Together, we can make sure Olympia never forgets again who they work for—and why public safety must never be sacrificed for politics.
